Chapter 27 illustration 1 on standard costing. The way you treated the standard quantity got me confused about everything I have learnt in your other book. Sir, you have made me to understand that standard quantity is equal to stand unit multiple by finished output where standard quantity is not giving expressly. MUV=(SQ – AQ)SP. The period output was 5000 units, actual usage 7.2million . You less the less the finish output directly from the actual usage to arrive at a variance so high sir. Suggestions sir I think the std 1000 units of material vl be multiple by finished output 1000×5000=5000000 std qty used. Then (5000000 – 7200000)4 to arrive at a variance that is more convincing.
