In this new edition of Fluid Mechanics, which is a revised and substantially expanded version of the first edition, several new topics like open channel flow, hydraulic turbines, hydraulic transients, flow measurements and pumps and fans have been added.

The chapter on one-dimensional viscous flow has also been expanded. With the addition of five new chapters, the treatment is now more indepth and comprehensive.

The book gives a thorough analysis of topics such as fluid statics, fluid kinematics, analysis of finite control volumes, and the mechanical energy equation.
