Good morning sir I am very happy and delighted to write you this message I got your book insight into management accounting 3rd edition in 2005 when I the polytechnic. But I decided to have a degree in accounting in 2021 enroll in Kogi state university Anyigba. I come across a book written by you. Cost accounting a managerial approach. Chapter 27 illustration 1 on standard costing. The way you treated the standard quantity got me confused about everything I have learnt in your other book. Sir, you have made me to understand that standard quantity is equal to stand unit multiple by finished output where standard quantity is not giving expressly. MUV=(SQ – AQ)SP. The period output was 5000 units, actual usage 7.2million . You less the less the finish output directly from the actual usage to arrive at a variance so high sir. Suggestions sir I think the std 1000 units of material vl be multiple by finished output 1000×5000=5000000 std qty used. Then (5000000 – 7200000)4 to arrive at a variance that is more convincing. Thank you Professor this is my submission sir. Help me look into the matter sir.
